Iván Alonso, viticulturist and wine specialist, is the person in charge and creator of Algil Bodegas y Viñedos, a one-man wine project within the D.O. Toro, where the most unique wines of the area are made. We give the greatest importance to the earth, our raw material, carrying out the most rigorous controls on it and taking care of it at all times to seek excellence. Single-varietal red wines made from 100% Tempranillo, 100% Grenache, and white wines from 100% Malvasía, preserving the authenticity and distinctive and differentiating character of the Morales de Toro and San Román de Hornija area.

Founded in 1965 to defend its vineyards and wines before the D.O. Ribera del Duero even existed. The Zazuar vineyards are characterized by their great personality and age, with an average age of 50 years and even pre-phylloxera. Very important for us are the terms of Costalveinte, Los Truenos, Alto Tambora, Fuenconcejo. In them we will find in very small spaces different soils and different ways of expressing the vineyard. In the winery we produce having the utmost respect for the grapes. With destemmed harvests without crushing and fermentations that do not exceed 24ºC and autochthonous yeasts. We seek identity with the environment. The vineyards are mostly narrowly goblet planted.

Milvus is a wine where an expression of nature is respected, which in every sip leaves us restless and shows us the passion that has been transmitted to it by the people who have grown the grapes, the climate, the altitude, the forest and the passage of the years of these vines. The complexity in its flavour reflects the passion and love for the grape and the terroir, which each glass makes you feel. That is Milvus, a wine that makes you fall in love, a song to the land and complexity. A wine that takes us in every glass, to a place where poetry is reality.

Viña Dammis was born from the desire of two young siblings from La Seca. A family linked to viticulture for four generations.

From the beginning, we were clear about our foundations: to make wines with the utmost respect for the environment, always trying to recreate the wines we remember from our grandparents in the village’s underground cellars, showing great love for the land. Therefore, we have driven the quality of our wines from the start in the vineyard.

We have been practicing ecological agriculture in our vineyards for many years. We till the soil with love and take care of all the work, both manual and mechanized, ourselves. We use cover cropping as fertilization, planting legumes, and when they start to compete with the plants, we turn them over. This contributes a great amount of nutrients to the soil in a vegetal and entirely ecological way.

Viña Dammis is a project for the future, a 100% ecological Verdejo with 5 months of aging on its fine lees. A wine with extremely carefully sourced raw materials, showcasing the full potential of the terroir. A unique Verdejo that surprises with its rounded acidity and potential in the mouth, trying to do something different in the DO Rueda.

BIO CERTIFIED WINE

Bodegas Amador García was born in 1969, it is a family winery with a winemaking tradition, located in Baños de Ebro, the town of the winery’s founder, Amador García Chávarri. It is a family that pampers these privileged lands with the wisdom transmitted, generation after generation.

The passion for wine and the land defines the Amador García family. More than 50 years of experience and hard work have made this family winery a benchmark in the world of wine.

Our vineyards are located in a privileged area, with a particular microclimate as it is located between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River. The Sierra de Cantabria protects our vineyards from the cold northern winds, giving them a Mediterranean character.

The soil on which our vineyards sit is excellent for vine cultivation. It is a clay-calcareous soil in which the vine absorbs the necessary moisture.

The ideal environment provides us with the desired product, filling our wines with essence and tradition.

Our predominant varieties are Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Viura.

The guarantee of quality is achieved from the selection of the grapes that is carried out in the vineyard and later in the winery.

VENDIMIA SELECCIONANDA

Joan Segura Pujadas’ life’s work began in the heart of the Penedès, with a long family tradition rooted in vinegrowing.

In 1924, his great-great-grandfather – also named Joan – bought the La Torreta estate in Sant Joan de Mediona: 73 hectares of forest and farmland which, until then, had produced meagre crops of cereal and flax. But thanks to his innovative, visionary spirit, La Torreta soon took a completely unexpected direction.

Great-great-grandfather Joan had the first Parellada vines planted there. The altitude of the area, the hours of sunshine and the temperature contrast between day and night soon bore their first fruits: unique, aromatic Parelladas with high acidity that allowed him to further improve the Macabeo and Xarel·lo wines he made lower down, on the Torrelavit estate.

These extraordinary wines would soon mark the family’s future
